Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the reality of the platforms of Arab scientific journals in the light of open access.

the study was conducted on three scientific journal platforms : the Algerian scientific journals platform ASJP, the Egyptian journals platform EKB, and the Iraqi Academic journals platform IASJ.

a sample of 15 journals specialized in library and information science was selected to identify their open access practices and their compliance with the requirements of the DOAJ directory.

the study concluded that the Egyptian journal of information sciences is already classified in the DOAJ directory, and the studied periodicals correspond to varying degrees with the DOAJ directory.

the study recommends the need to clarify the policy of Arab periodicals regarding open access in order to cover it in the DOAJ as a first step towards global databases.
