The study aimed to identify the impact of drug addiction on an adolescent's self-concept.

Recognize the concept of addiction, drug addiction, drug addiction and adolescence, and then recognize the concept of self.

The study relied on a life story curriculum that enabled it to analyze and track the trajectory of a researcher's life, by returning to the earlier stages of his life, carried out in the framework of the interview.

The study sample consisted of adolescent drug addicts, aged 16 and 17, residing in the centre specializing in re-education in Hassi Dahou, Sidi Bel Abbes State.

The study found that drug addiction affects the concept of perceived self and social self.

For the self-conscious, the addicted teenager imagines that he has become another person capable of overcoming his problems, suggesting that he is strong, courageous and can face the opponent.

He can also accept the trauma of death and the hardship of work.

As for the social self, his interaction with others and their responses made him imagine that social relations can be established and maintained compared to his true self without anaesthetic.

This leaves the drug addict sticking to the drug and rejects the idea of applying for treatment.
