Sufism occupied an important position in the Algerian society, as it flourished organizationally from an elitist appearance to an institutional one by the emergence of Sufi tarikas and Zawaya, which attracted various social segments.

the Sufism subject is one of the issues that still arouse the researchers interest, since this phenomenon is a part of the civilization giving which is related to ideas and practices.

religion also had a great deal in the policy interest of the ottomans in Algeria at the modern era.

the southwest region was the most important region that embraced Sufism, and witnessed the birth of several Sufi tarikas such as the sheikhi tarika of Shadhili origins, whose Sufi discourse was able to find a place for itself thanks to his eminence, and al-Zawaya al-Sheikhia swept the southwestern region and provided great services in several fields.

this study treats the conditions under which the sheikhi tarika appeared and its spread in the southwest.
