أطلق على مدينة الجزائر في الفترة العثمانية صفة "الكوسموبوليتانية"، أي أنها كانت تحتوي على أعراق و ديانات مختلفة، و قد كان العبيد السود من بين تلك الأعراق.
كان هناك العديد من الأسباب و الظروف التي ساهمت في وجود هذه الفئة الاجتماعية المسكوت عنها بمدينة الجزائر في هذه الفترة بالذات، فما هي هذه الظروف؟ و كيف تعامل أهالي المدينة مع وجود العبيد بها؟ و ما هو الدور الذي لعبوه فيها؟ و كيف كان تفاعلهم مع بقية السكان؟
Abstract EN
The Ottoman Algiers was named by many historians «the cosmopolitan city" because, it contained different races and religions, and black slaves were among those races.
there were many reasons and circumstances that contributed to the existence of this societal group in Algiers at this particular time.
so, what are these conditions? how did the other social groups deal with the existence of black slaves? and what role they exactly played in Algiers? how was their interaction with the rest of the population?
