The research is a study in the names of cities in the Chlef region, by mentioning the reasons for the names and their origins, especially the names that belong to the Berber and Arabic languages, which are related to nature, or labels dating back to the Roman period and other areas : Chlef, sendjas, Oum Drou, Talassa, Tadjna, Taghazault, Ain Merane, Oued Sly, Zeboudja, Bouzghaia.

one of the results is that we find that the names of cities are very old, and it is difficult to confirm their meanings, and we sometimes find a diversity in naming of some cities in general, because of the diversity of languages and civilizations, and the diversity of culture in history of Chlef region in particular, and Algeria in general, also we conclude societal coexistence and acceptance of the other is apparent by preserving some Amazigh designations among ar, and also Aramong Amazigh.
