In the context of a growing interest in the phenomenon of migration in the academic and media areas, we have decided to shed light on the migration policies adopted by receiving States.

In this paper, we focus on the French and British models; by using a descriptive method.

The repercussions of migration and its effects have led States to adopt policies and enact laws, as a way to respond to the national interests and their political orientations.

France and the United Kingdom are countries with a long history of migration, based on historic and current, geographic and demographic, political and economic considerations.

In both States, migration has aroused everyone's concern and has been included in the political agenda, especially during electoral periods.

Accordingly, migration policies have undergone continuous changes in order to serve host States interests (especially demographic and economic ones).
