Abstract EN

The study aimed to reveal the effect of using the signs of the Ottoman Mushaf in improving the quranic performance of the upper grades students in the primary stage in Jeddah.

the two researchers used the semi-experimental approach.

the study also relied on the descriptive approach through the direct observation card that was conducted after treatment as a tool for evaluating the performance of the students.

the study sample consisted of (112) female students, which were divided into two equal groups : the control group (56) female students, and the experimental group (56) female students.

the results of the study showed that the use of the signs of the ottoman Qur’an has a significant impact on improving the Qur’anic performance of female students in the upper grades of the primary stage in Jeddah in terms of there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.5) between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the mean scores of the control group students in the post-measurement of the achievement test (theoretical) and the oral test on the observation card in favor of the experimental group, as well as the presence of differences between the mean scores of the group students experimental in the two applications (pre and post) in the achievement test of the quranic performance in favor of the post application.

the study also revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental groups in the achievement and oral (post) quranic performance test due to the grade variable in favor of the sixth grade compared to the fourth and fifth grades of the experimental group students.

the study recommended the need to provide training courses for teachers of the holy Qur'an on the practice of using the signs of the ottoman Qur'an in teaching intonation.

the ministry of education should include in its training programs for the professional development of primary school teachers the use of the signs of the ottoman Qur'an or include them in the activities and training of the holy Qur’an subject books and training in their practice.
