Abstract EN

Ibn Ya'ish’s Commentary on " Sharh al-Mufassal" clearly and thoroughly presents the phenomenon of “grammatical ugliness”.

This necessitates reviewing and monitoring all manifestations of this phenomenon.

The author used to describe some grammatical phenomena as ugly, invalidating ugliness of some of them.

The study assumes that ugliness of grammatical phenomena, and vice versa, was not random.

The theory is full-fledged and Ibn Ya'ish had an original view.

However, this theory needs careful reading of its roots, by devising the criteria that Ibn Ya'ish supposedly employed to describe some grammatical phenomena as grammatically ugly.

There are other criteria that he supposedly relied on to describe other phenomena as grammatically ugly.

Sub-criteria of internal divisions are to be detected, too.

The study supposes that grammatical ugliness was not of one degree; it had different degrees and multiple levels… So the search title is: (Criteria of grammatical ugliness at Ibn Ya'ish and invalidate it: descriptive study).
