Abstract EN

The objective of my research is to summarize the opinions of contemporary jurists regarding the depiction of prophets and companions.

It also aims to uncover the principles of jurisprudence that have been used to issue rulings on these two issues.

At the conclusion of my research, I found that contemporary jurists are unanimous on the prohibition of the depiction of Prophets, peace be upon them.

Their reference in this matter is preventing the excuse for engaging in a prohibited act, as for the depiction of companions, may Allah be pleased with them, there is a difference of opinion, with some permitting it within certain limits and others prohibiting it entirely.

The reference for those who permit it is that it serves the general interest, while the reference for those who forbid it is the blockage of the excuse to undermine the status of the companions, as well as diminishing their reputation and status from within their followers.
