The Algerian novelist writing the liberation revolution and independence has not always been realistic, but there are experiences that have come out of the ordinary, wanting to explore other worlds, including the worlds of fantasy writing.

Muhammad dib is a clear example of this, as in the novel “run to the wild shore” 1964 and in the novel “who remembers the sea” 1962.

he seeks to write about the atrocities of war and their impact on being Algerian human in a way that goes beyond the documentary to the fantastic.

this study shows the structural aspects of this practice through these two texts.

it aims to clarify the fantastic as a new concept of writing that aims to depict human concerns and nightmares by employing the basics of this literary genre.

the writer alludes to it in the appendices that he adds to his texts to indicate how the writer is no longer a witness to history and a recorder of it, but dreams are born of it.

he is a designer of dreams and he must dive into himself.

here, in these two texts, alienation and self-perception take on a form of madness or paradox of reality, and the fantastic was only a textual pretext to explain this by referring to Todorov in his book “a introduction to fantasy literature”
