In this article, we aim to highlight the status of Arabic grammar in the book principles of general grammar “principes de grammaire Générale”, written by L.hjelmslev.

it seemed clear that his stance on the old Arabic grammar was fallacious, based on the passages Hjelmslev dedicated to Arabic grammar, and in making the Arabic grammar a follower in its origins and fundamentals to the Greek grammar, and to the Aristotelian logic as well, which led him not to include it in his list of the international grammar schools that he selected and considered the origin that was used in all linguistic researches and studies throughout the course of human history; as such, the book includes a certain ideological dimension.
