Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the forms of authority in the art of squares/ “Murab’aat” of Ibn Arous.

this folk type of literature was well-known in Qena governorate, Egypt since it appeared there.

it was an oral art because the people who created it were illiterate.

its beauty emerges from its oral rhetorical style which is characterized by its short sentences, depth of meaning and the emotional interaction between the poet and the receiver.

this art is easily and emotionally transferred to the receiver as he is part of the group.

it is produced and pronounced in the colloquial dialect, and it affects the rhythm of the line.

this study employs the textual analysis approach of this art through doing a fieldwork for a sample of those who are interested in this type of literature.

it attempts to understand and interpret the poetic text through examining its constituents, linguistic features and significant symbols to demonstrate its values, proverbs and morals.

he exposed it in a literary folk mould to save heritage and traditions.
