Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify and analyze the needs of professors at the University of Setif 2 in informatics to possess teaching and research competencies for use in e-learning to facilitate the process of distance learning for students using the Moodle platform.

The descriptive approach was adopted in this study, and a questionnaire was formulated consisting of (40) items distributed on three axes that include training needs in (informatics competencies, electronic research, electronic teaching) necessary for the professor .It was applied remotely to a sample of (72) professors of varying years of experience and institutes, as well as the previous training in the computer .The study concluded that the sample members have moderate needs in all the axes of the questionnaire, except for the needs related to the application of zoom and e-mail, which came to a high degree through which the professors expressed their need to interact with their colleagues as well as with the students, and that there are no significant differences in the degree of professors' assessment of the training needs associated with previous competencies due to the variables: the institute, experience, rank and previous training in computer technologies
