his study highlights the architecture of Algiers city in the Ottoman era, which is distinguished by its innovations and the use of elements serving defined functions.

They were set as architectural solutions in addition to their structural and aesthetic role in order to show the degree of architectural development and accuracy of planning reached by this city characterized with dense buildings, therefore we have chosen an important architectural element namely Al-Qbo )the skylight(, which was designed to satisfy different functions assigned to it, and in order to avoid many problems faced by this architectural type that gave rise to its distinguished form.
