This study aims to highlight the transformation that occurred in the concept of literary style by moving from the structural approach that failed to comprehend the aesthetic intent of the text to the reader's perspective that went beyond the limits of the linguistic fact to reach the world of the artistic response itself that arises automatically from the relationship of the text with its reader.

Thus, the research seeks through analyzing the elements of this approach, in both Michael Riffaterre and Stanley Fish, to explore the reader's role in distinguishing between a linguistic fact and a stylistic fact on one side, and a classification of the stylistic characteristics of a message on the other.

The study completes its exploratory goal by considering the limits of the intervention achieved by the reader's approach by reformulating the concept of style by linking the condition of its fulfillment to the authority of the reader's attention, so that the search for meaning is contingent on the reading experience that goes beyond the limits of the textual format to the activity of the entire human experience
