Abstract EN

This study as aim to clarify the meaning of the environmental footprint through exposure to the carbon footprint, which resulting in particular from the consumption of fossil energy, and identify the relationship between measurement of ecological footprint and the achieving of environmental sustainability in Algeria through the period 2000-2019.

the study found that Algeria is one of the countries with a high carbon footprint, due to the intensive use of fossil energy, and is considered a negative use, because that primary resources are orientated to export in raw form rather than oriented to revitalize and recovery of industrial sector, which leads to the result that the high carbon footprint without improvement in the development indicators.

so thus realize a vicious cycle of depletion of non-renewable resources, with high rates of environmental degradation.
