In the 2016 constitutional amendment, the Algerian constitutional founder sought to avoid criticism directed at the constitutional council and fill the gaps in the 1996 constitution in the field of constitutional oversight, as it worked to strengthen its formation and determine the conditions for its membership and ensure the independence of its members and expanded in the notification areas to both the prime minister and the parliamentary opposition and even citizens from the path of the mechanism for advancing unconstitutionality and all of this will lead to activating and developing the role of the constitutional council.
