This article discusses the implications of state failure on human security in Mali.

Indeed, international reports indicate that Mali is one of the most failing countries in the world.

Moreover, this study aims to identify the origins of insecurity in Mali, which are, on the onehand, the results of the colonial era and, on the other hand, the country's abundant natural riches, which have made the country a source of international rivalries.
