O50 The study aimed to assess the competitive performance of the Algerian economy during the period from 2000 to 2019, based on some international indicators, namely the economic freedom index, the global competitiveness index and the ease of doing business index, in addition to the investment attractiveness index as one of the regional indicators, and after analyzing the performance of the Algerian economy from By analyzing the development of some economic variables, namely the rate of economic growth, foreign direct investment, exports, imports, and the status of the trade balance, the study concluded that Algeria is at the bottom of the ranking in most international and regional indicators, and that the competitive gap between it and the developed countries and even some Arab countries is very large, And that the performance of its economy is very limited and volatile, as it is closely related to the hydrocarbon sector, the latter being affected by fluctuations in oil prices and unstable global market conditions.
