This paper will examine and criticize Arab historical sources that addressed al-Ūrās news in the late Byzantine period.

which we will analyse so that we can reach a series of observations and conclusions on the general situation of the Byzantine presence in the Awrās region of al-Maghrib al-Islāmī.

The study of this topic certainly does not pose a single problem, but it will raise many questions.

The references made by Arab sources in the Byzantine era to Mount Awrās are a prelude through which we will be able to rebuild and install the history of its cities and archaeological and historical monuments, especially since a large proportion of them remain unidentified and have received no attention as they did in the Mashriq al-Islāmī.
