Abstract EN

This study aims to address the topic of asset recovery from corruption crimes as a modern and complex procedure of international cooperation with many obstacles to the requesting state in realizing its desire to recover its assets smuggled abroad.

although the united nations convention against corruption devoted a special chapter to this procedure, chapter five, which contains the set of procedures and measures for recovery, at the conclusion of this study we concluded that the measures it contains are not sufficient alone to achieve recovery.

the practical aspect has proved that some of the procedures contained in the convention are inadequate, resulting in delays or failures in the recovery process.

this requires reviewing the update of these procedures and finding solutions to the identified obstacles.
