Abstract EN

Language is a social phenomenon which is inherent to man as a speaking creaturethrough its practice as symbols and words, with his commitment to the laws that enables him to communicate and express his needs.

This is because language can only be understood in the language defined by our thought.

Hence, the philosophy of language tried to get the understanding of language scientifically by semantics, syntax, stylistics, semiotics and etymology.

However, what we aimed at in this research is an attempt to present a philosophical approach to language and the extent of its intersection with Arabic linguistic thought, and how it led to the term 'sociolinguistics' in the Arab heritage.
