Abstract EN

This research aims to highlight the image of Algeria in artistic Orientalism, which contributed to preserving many forms of Algerian culture in the second half of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, through two artistic forms, namely plastic painting and photography The axes of this research are divided into three basic points, the first revolving around the concept of imageology and its relationship to culture, and the second is related to painting imageology and the importance of Orientalist painting in preserving images of Algerian culture.

The third highlights the role of imageology of photography in preserving the most important forms of this culture.
