This research aims to study the art of gilding and ornamentation of religious manuscripts, which have received great attention from civilizations through different ages, and this art was closely related to religion, and peoples expressed with it their reverence for the revealed word of God, and this study included examples of illuminated manuscripts in Judaism and Christianity, and examples of the art of gilding Quranic manuscripts, which were limited to the art of decoration due to the prohibition of human representation in the arts related to the Islamic religion.
