Abstract EN

Ibrahim Mutafarqa is one of the important figures in the history of the Ottoman Empire.

This is due to his influential role at the political, diplomatic, and reformatory levels.

He called for the implementation of reformations, especially represented in the introduction of the first official printing press for the Ottoman Empire in Arabic letters to keep pace with the developments of the era witnessed by the western part of Europe.

The study is concerned with the diplomatic and enlightening character of Ibrahim Mutfaqara with a special focus on his activities in several fields, including diplomacy, politics, intellect, and reformation.

It also focuses on the educational reformation and his most famous achievement of establishing the first official printing press in the Ottoman Empire.

The structure of the study consists of an introduction and five sections, as well as a conclusion.

The introduction section deals with the educational and military situation before the official emergence of the printing press.

The first section tackles his early life and biography.

The second section deals with his political and diplomatic activities in the Ottoman Empire, while the third section addresses the opening of the printing house and its challenges, stages, and components.

The fourth section is devoted to the study of his writings, while the fifth which is the final section deals with the publications that were printed in this printing press.
