This research aims to study the reality and prospects of the financial market in Algeria by shedding light on the stock exchange, its inception, developments and trading rates, as a channel for the development of investments and support for economic development in the country.

we concluded that the Algiers stock exchange suffers from a major stagnation in the volume of financial transactions.

and the reluctance of many economic intermediaries to deal with the stock exchange for many reasons intertwined with each other, economic, legislative, legal and even cultural ..., therefore, our study recommended the necessity of activating a set of legal reforms to simplify transactions in the stock exchange and encourage institutions to enter the stock exchange, especially small and medium enterprises, provide data and information, increase transparency and regulation in the economy, activate the role of the media in introducing the stock exchange and its working patterns
