Abstract EN

This study aims to observe and foresight the impact of international balances on the transformation paths in North Africa before، during and after the Arab spring.

and it focuses mainly on Tunisia and Libya، as the first was the cradle of the Arab Spring، and it knows، up to now، some of the harbingers of democratic transformation، despite the many challenges surrounding it، while Libya is still mired in chaos and turmoil.

Based on that، the study attempts to answer the following questions : What is the impact of international balances throughout history in the North African region، especially Tunisia and Libya? What is the extent and limits of that impact? How can it be explained? What are the transformations that Tunisia and Libya experienced in the wake of the Arab Spring? Where are the effects of international balances reflected in that? And if the Arab Spring protests demonstrated the need for democracy ،what is the future for democratic transformation in the region in light of the current international balances? How can local political forces invest these international balances in support of democratic transformation?.
