No one expected that there would be a détente in relations between United States of America and the Republic of China during the cold war, but many data changed radically when the president Nixon came to power in1969, the policy of his foreign minister Henry Kissinger which based on the principles of realism had decisively brought about a historical rapprochement between the two countries contrary to all expectations.
