Abstract EN

This research aims at studying contemporary manifestations of Westernization and its means and ways to confront it.

Manifestations of Westernization are numerous, some of which are related to social work, such as the spread of associations and institutions.

Other manifestations are related to media work, such as Western control of the media in its various forms, and the encouragement of scientific missions to the West.

Others relate to political work, such as keeping the true believers away and empowering the westernized.

There are many means of westernization, some of them address emotion, such as provoking sectarian, ethnic and civilized fanaticism.

Others address the mind and thought, such as questioning the Sharia and its sources, fighting the Arabic language, promoting skeptical thoughts, distorting Islamic history and its men, and spreading Western ideas and theories.

Some means address desires and whims, such as promoting Western values among Muslims.

There are many ways to confront Westernization, some of which are practical and material, such as establishing scientific and cultural institutions, and providing media outlets that demonstrate Islamic culture.

Others are practical, moral and educational, such as spreading awareness of the Islamic faith and Sharia, and spreading the spirit of interdependence between Islam and its values.

Other ways are academic and scientific, such as introducing Islamic civilization, reforming and developing educational curricula, and responding to ideas of westernization in a scientific and rational manner.
