Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the level of reading comprehension among students of the upper grades of the primary stage (fourth, fifth and sixth), and to identify the level of solving verbal mathematical problems among students of the upper grades of the primary stage (fourth, fifth and sixth).

It also aimed to reveal the relationship between the level of reading comprehension and solving verbal mathematical problems among students of the upper grades of the primary stage (fourth, fifth and sixth), and the study used the descriptive analytical approach.

And the sixth from the primary stage at (Al-Ruwaidif Primary School - That Al-Sawary Primary School - Al-Sail Al-Saghir Primary School).

Findings of the study: 1.

The results of the reading comprehension skills test showed that the arithmetic mean of the students' scores in the test as a whole is greater than the hypothetical average of the test, which indicates that the students as a whole do not have a weakness in possessing reading comprehension skills.

The results of the mathematical problem-solving skills test showed that the arithmetic mean of the students' scores in the test as a whole is greater than the hypothetical means of the test, which indicates that the students as a whole do not have a weakness in possessing mathematical problem-solving skills.

There is a statistically significant relationship between students' scores between reading comprehension scores and their scores in solving verbal mathematical problems in mathematics in the upper grades of the primary stage.

There is a direct correlation between reading comprehension and solving verbal mathematical problems in mathematics.
