This study falls within the studies that carry in its being a deductive, investigative, and analytical nature; The research relied mainly on deducing the functions of the deep structure by studying the statements of scholars in this field, Western and Arab, and exposure to their research and opinions, and then extracting the result of those statements with a personal effort and a self-opinion that expresses the researcher's point of view.

After that, the research dealt with justifications that call for the assumption of deep infrastructure for surface structures, justifying this by reviewing some of the evidence and examples.
