Characteristics of the occupational and social composition of the population of the city of Medenine in the southeast of Tunisia.

This work relates to the study of the characteristics of the occupational and social structure of the population of the city of Medenine in the southeast of Tunisia.

It has witnessed important changes at the level of economic and social characteristics since 1966 as a result of the transformations that Tunisia has undergone since independence in 1956 and in the late eighties of the century and the normalization of relations with Libya, which led to the emergence of parallel commercial activity in the past, as the city benefited from the political transformations that Tunisia witnessed and the opening of the borders With Libya, which contributed to providing jobs in various economic sectors.
