Abstract EN

This article aims to study Ibn Alhajeb’s Mukhtasar, known as inference process pinpointing the effect of the logical analogy in the foundationalist inference.

it also aims to clarify the way interpreters of his Mukhtasar deal with such analogies.

this effect was clear in his evidence.

however, most of these interpreters did not pay much attention to the various types of such analogies simply because they were utterly simple, clear and obvious in their opinions.

the study concludes with a number of findings, the most important of which are : 1- The most notable logical analogy in Ibn Alhajeb’s writings is the continuous exceptional analogy, including every and all related issues.

2- Ibn Alhajeb often uses the associative analogy, especially the first type.

this is, of course, natural because it is produced intuitively, and all other types are related to it.

3- I could not find examples of the second and third types (of Ibn Alhajeb’s logical analogy).

but rather, I found some of the second and third types in some of his interpretations and footnotes, though they were very few.

4- I could not find any example of the fourth type, neither in his book (Almukhtasar), nor in his interpretations and /or his commentators (footnote writers).

this is not strange, however, due to the fact that logic analogists held that it is not of a value both to readers or scholars.
