Yan Richard, who is from the new generation of orientalists, wrote a slogan that appeared in the preface and at the end of his book Shiite Islam, which is “I took it upon myself to talk more about beliefs and ideologies than about beliefs”.

This slogan suggests a fundamental idea that his interpretation of Imam Hassan’s life (peace be upon him) from a political standpoint, that is, he dealt with it based on political considerations and not religious ones.

And he talked about it with a subjective view rather than an objective view, so he took his life with his grandfather as an introduction to his biography, to set out for his caliphate and the political situations that surrounded it, leading to his poisoned martyrdom (peace be upon him).

According to him in the sources and references related to the subject of the study, and the researcher mentioned it in three sections, the first section included the succession of Imam Hassan (peace be upon him) and his truce with Muawiyah, the second topic dealt with the refutation of suspicions about his marriages, and the third topic touched on his testimony (peace be upon him).
