Abstract EN

The crimes of imitation, forgery and counterfeiting are deemed among the most dangerous crimes against national currencies, banknotes and coins.

the technological progress and advancement and freedom of movement have contributed to the proliferation of these crimes among nations, therefore, they were described as crimes organized across statesthe matter that entails close international cooperation to suppress and fiercely combat these dangerous crimes.

this dire need was adopted and affirmed by the "International convention for the suppression of counterfeiting currency" enacted in the year 1929 AD and in an endeavour to protect the national currency, the Egyptian legislator has regulated the provisions of incrimination in articles (202 to 205) of the Egyptian penal code and in the kuwaiti criminal law with a total of Eleven articles starting with article (263) to article (273) under the heading : "counterfeiting currency and coins".

the study at hand has explored and deeply addressed the criminal offences and felonies due to their dangers via exploring the legal regulation thereof and the provisions of incrimination and penalties in both Egyptian and Kuwaiti legislations, and in this context, we have outlined some sentences recently rendered by both the Egyptian court of appeal and the Kuwaiti court of cassation.

We have also referred to some provisions of incrimination in the newly ordained French penal code.

the study came out with various findings and recommendations, the researcher urges the concerned and competent authorities to take the same into consideration with thorough study and appraisal since they are the outcomes of the researcher's empirical and practical application in the field of suppressing and combating these devastating crimes.
