Abstract EN

The oil sector in the State of Kuwait is the mainstay of the country's national income and the main foundation of its economic security.

The personnel working in this sector are considered as the basis of production and the foundation of the commercial process in this field.

The research problem is underlined bythe lack of legal regulation for the practice of strike at work in Kuwaiti legislation, as well as the complete or partial suspension of work due to an emergency situation such as a pandemic of the spread of the coronavirus that prevents the exercise of business due to the personnel's fear of infection, which represents a legislative problem that must be examined according to its organizational dimensions.

This research will address with the concept of strikes and suspending work in sectors of economic significance, and then review the sources of the right to strike and suspension of work due to epidemics in Kuwaiti legislation.

This research will also discuss the right to strike and to discontinue work due to the spread of the novel coronavirus in the Kuwaiti legislation.

Finally, it will address the legality of the right to strike in comparative legislations, the mechanism of its exercise, and its effects.
