Abstract EN

The COVID-19 crisis has caused shock and pressure on cities, testing resilience and uncovering important issues and opportunities for improvement.

In response, many community members worked in solidarity to help recover and provide a support base.

This research examines how we can, to strengthen our resilience, during COVID-19 and beyond.

The resilient city refers to the ability of individuals, organizations, companies, and systems to transform, adapt to and withstand shocks and stresses.The city is subject to natural and human disturbances.

Analysis of potential problems related to epidemics will allow to identify strengths, look for opportunities for improvement, and prepare for future challenges.

The more our society understands the key components of building a resilient city, the easier it will be for us to recover, adapt and grow together through constant challenges and changes.In the face of many disease outbreaks events, we note how cities and communities can become more vulnerable.

This is listed through a broader understanding of theories, a review of the literature, current practices and an overview of three points in practicing urban resilience, namely reflections, preparedness, and responses.

This research contributes to the debate on and understanding of the resilient city in theory and practice.
