Abstract EN

The research aimed to study the arial parts of Tripleurospermum auriculatum (Boiss.) Rech.f.

belongs to the family Asteraceae.

Therefore, the powder of aerial parts was examined microscopically and the active ingredients were investigated, the total phenol content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and radical scavenging activity were determined in the methanolic extract from the aerial parts of Tripleurospermum auriculatum plant.

The results of the microscopic examination showed that the plant's powder contains the following elements: numerous covering unicellular trichomes,covering multi-cellular branched trichomes.

Glandular trichomes, sack of pollen, style and stigma of the floret, pollengrains, fibrouslayer of the anther, tubular florets,the petal's head of tubular floret.

The results of chemical tests showed that the aerial parts of the plant contain phenols, flavonoids, and tannins.

The total content of phenol was determined spectrophotometric ally using Folin-Ciocalteu, the amount of total phenolics was (86.66mg GAE/ g methanolic extract).

flavonoids was determined using spectrophotometric method by forming complex with aluminum chloride and measurement absorbance at 425nm, it has been shown that quantity of flavonoids in methanolic extract as quercetin equivalent was 53.26 QEmg /g) The antioxidant activity of the extracts was examined by DPPH method the methanolic extract exhibited the free radical scavenging property (IC50= 1.11 mg/ml).
