Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) was not, in his intellectual and psychological construction, different from his forefathers the imams (peace be upon them), as he was, as they were, approaching God Almighty, clinging to His obedience, knowing the provisions of his religion, ascetic in the world and its joys, striving to fulfill the needs of the needy As well as the enormous scientific wealth he possessed, which included all colors of science and knowledge.

These qualities called for the poets, past and present, to pay attention to the personality of the Imam (peace be upon him), so they began to draw, in their poems, the features of this character.

The poet Sheikh Jaafar Al-Hilali was one of those poets who drew, with their poems, the features of the personality of Imam Al-Rida (peace be upon him), without neglecting to emphasize his belonging to the Noble Messenger (may God bless him and his family), which raised the fears of the Abbasid Caliphate (Al-Ma'mun), who sought to Reducing his danger, so he distanced him from the city of Jeddah, and held, in (Khorasan) scientific and intellectual symposiums, in which the owners of different sects gathered to debate the Imam (peace be upon him) with a desire to belittle the scientific Imam and his social status, but the Imam (peace be upon him), with his scientific wealth, which included all kinds of sciences and knowledge such as philosophy, theology, medicine and the like, disappointed al-Ma'mun, which prompted him to get rid of it, so he poisoned him.
