Abstract EN

Muslims have a great legacy, enriched with everything that humanity may need in its various stages, whilst the Holy Quran is deemed to be the basis of the Islamic legacy because the source is God, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

It sets for mankind a complete system that ensures their happiness and leads them to the right path in every aspect of life through the teachings included in the Holy Quran and the Holy Sunna (Prophetic Traditions).

The Holy Quran represents the Heavenly Constitution which governs Muslims and their affairs.

Therefore, it has been, throughout the ages since the first day of revelation, a top priority for Muslims to recite, understand and learn it.

The first seed sown for that was the sacred teachings of the Prophet which emphasized the significance of reciting the Quran, understanding its texts, reflecting its verses and setting it as a beacon of guidance in every aspect of life.

His daily life activities were, in fact, the incarnation of the Holy Qur'an meanings.

He used to emphasize the significance of the Quran through reciting it to his companions, interpreting it verse by verse, or even word by word, so that they might understand the word of Allah, and be assured of its high status, sacredness, and importance in their lives.

That was the first phase that the exegesis of the Holy Quran went through; known as (exegesis with reference to Sunna).

Then, he followed that with more advanced steps when he singled his household and some of his companions out for some special knowledge and secrets of Holy Quran so that they would disseminate the same among other Muslims.

That special care was manifested in the traditions on the Holy Quran and its interpretation abundantly reported by them, as they represent the truthful interpreters of Quran, and the most knowledgeable in understanding its meanings and connotations.

I will try in the pages of this study to touch on part of the exegetical narrations reported from Imam Ali bin Mousa Al-Ridha a.

Seven verses have been selected for the study which is divided into two sections with an introduction and a conclusion, as considered in recognized exegeses and books of Hadith.

Then, they are discussed by applying the standards of the Holy Book and Hadith.
