Abstract EN

This paper aims at studying narrators who have been evaluated in two different books: Al-Kashef by al-Zahabi and Al-Thiqat by Ibn Hibban, regarding their trustworthiness and good character, with a view to identifying whether their hadith narrations are to be accepted or rejected.

The research focuses on the fact that Al-Zahabi concluded that some Hadith reporters are trustworthy, whereas Ibn Hibban disagreed with him.

The latter either reported that they are untrustworthy in his book Al-Thiqat on honest reporters, or he was totally silent about them and never mentioned.

Or else, he might have mentioned them in another book where he listed dishonest reporters.

The study adopts inductive and analytical methods, and finds out that not all narrators classed by Al-Zahabi as trustworthy" are categorized as untrustworthy by Ibn Hibban alone.

Moreover, there are twenty four hadith narrators of this category in Al-zhahabi book al-Kashef.
