Abstract EN

Scholars gave to Holy Quran a big importance in their researches and sought deeply for its linguistic phenomena, like Imala( pronouncing the sound A), alwakf (the stop) and Idgham (the assimilation of a one letter into another).

The term Idgham appeared in their books to clarify the positions where it is permitted and where it is prevented.

Scholars came up with a result that Idgham is a phenomenon of sound configuration; they also mentioned the reasons after it, divided it into types and put conditions for it.

Since old scholars like El Khalil, until modern ones, idgham was a subject of study Mohammed El Amine Alshanquiti is a scholar from the modern century who mentioned it in his explanatory book Adhwaa El Bayan “lights of clarification”, he demonstrated it using proofs from Quran and Arabic heritage.

All these issues are to be detailed in this paper.
