The aim of the current research is to identify the effectiveness of a training program based on the theory of cognitive burden in developing the teaching skills of the student teacher at the College of Education, University of Hail, the researcher used to collect data (test the cognitive aspect of teaching skills, the performance note card for teaching skills).

Of the student teachers at the College of Educa tion, University of Hail, and their number reached (21) students majoring in Arabic language, It was found from the results of the research that there is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α = 0.01) between the mean scores of the student teachers in the College of Education, University of Hail in the pre and post application in the performance on the test and note card of teaching skills as a whole in favor of the post application, and there is also a statistically significant difference.

At the level of significance (a = 0.01) among the average scores of the student teachers in the College of Education, University of Hail in the cognitive aspect test and the observation card for teaching skills as a whole in favor of the post application.

The most important recommendations were : evaluating and developing programs for preparing teachers of the College of Education in light of the theory of cognitive burden, including strategies for cognitive burden in the course on methods of teaching, preparing training courses for student teachers and including learning theories, including the theory of cognitive burden.
