Abstract EN

The current research aimed to identify the skills of scientific investigation among third-grade intermediate students, and the descriptive approach was adopted.

The research sample consisted of (400) male and female students of the third intermediate grade in schools affiliated to the Directorate of Education / Karkh third in Baghdad with a percentage of (2%).

From the research community of (22,148) male and female students for the academic year (2021-2022), the research tool was to prepare a test for scientific investigation skills, and the test included (13) skills: (observation, measurement, classification, conclusion, extrapolation, prediction, communication, use of place relationships And time, procedural definition, controlling variables, imposing hypotheses, experimental design, and data interpretation) by (50) paragraphs (multiple choice).

The psychometric properties of the paragraphs, validity and reliability of the tool were calculated and a number of appropriate statistical methods were used, including the psychometric properties were verified using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS+22)) The statistical results resulted in the following:The third intermediate grade students have sufficient scientific inquiry skills.
