Abstract EN

This current research analyzed grammar exercises of Arabic language books for the intermediate stage, the researcher prepared a list of the skills of Inferential thinking which include three main skills and twenty three criteria, then presented them to some experts and specialists in curricula and methods of language teaching.

The results then were analyzed according to the skills of inferential thinking.To ensure the stability of the analysis, the researcher used the method of analysis with the help of another analyst and using the Cooper equation, (98%) for the first intermediate grade, (96%) for the second intermediate grade, and (91%) for the third intermediate grade.

For the purpose of extracting the results, the researcher used the frequencies and percentages of the inferential thinking skills, and the research settled that the highest achieved skill is (the skill of inference) with (463) recurrences, which is equivalent to a percentage of (51%), while (the induction skill) at (225) iterations with a percentage of ( 25%), then followed by (deduction skill) at (211) recurrences, equivalent to (24%), so that the total repetitions are (899) recurrences, distributed over six books.In light of the research results, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, including: The necessity of including inferential thinking skills in grammar exercises for the intermediate stage in a balanced manner according to their levels.

In terms of the size and quality of the educational material, activities and exercises in proportion to the mental level of the students of each grade of the intermediate stage, and to complement this research, the researcher suggested several proposals, including: Analyzing Arabic grammar books for the preparatory stage according to the skills of inferential thinking.
