The Development of Mental-Hygiene State Across the Time-Dimensions: Past, Present, and Future among College Students The goal of the study was to investigate the development of the university students’ mental-hygiene across the time-dimension: past, present, and future , as perceived by the students.

A valid and reliable tool of (49) items was developed to assess the students’ mental-hygiene state across: past, present, and future, and was applied on a sample of (155) students from Mustansiriyah University, Faculties of Literature and Sciences.Results indicated a consistent gaining in mental hygiene across the time dimensions: a moderate level in the past , but a high level in the present, and even a much higher expected one in future, with a statistical differences among means at less than (0.5).

Results also reveal no statistical differences among genders, academic specializations; but a difference related to students’ socio-economic status in favor of the higher levels of it.
