Abstract EN

In this academic work, we sought to build a model of social change among industrial workers in Algeria, by studying the change in the social living of the industrial executives operating at Sonatrach during the COVID-19 pandemic, describing their living conditions by linking them with the wage factor that determines their hierarchy in the hierarchical structure of contemporary Algerian society.

we also studied their own social representations on a number of social life topics that we limited to housing, public health and purchasing power as elements of research.

the material and socio-cultural changes that have taken place in the society of our research "the industrial executives operating at Sonatrach" have qualified for the collapse of the concept of the middle working class according to them, because social development has not been as objective as they aspired to, which is important to us and constitutes a model of what we can call the sociology of the factory and the city in contemporary Algeria.
