The Algerian legislator, whether in internal law or in investment conventions, has been concerned with protecting the property of the foreign investment project from unilateral measures taken by the state, whether in the form of expropriation, appropriation or exploitation by providing guarantees that are generally embodied in the need to adhere to the condition of public benefit, non-discrimination and commitment to fair and equitable compensation.
