Abstract EN

This study, titled “the legal drama between the problematic term and the genre dawn : a comparative study,” discussed two topics.

the first topic dealt with : the legal drama genre dawn; he clarified the concept of the theory of film types, and between these main, sub-, and hybrid genres, as the general theory of film genres, and indicated the importance of this to the writer, the cinematic industry, and the audience, and in the second topic, it discussed the classification of legal drama films and is it considered a main or sub-genre, or a hybrid ? the study followed the structural approach the terminological procedure method and a comparative study.

the general theory of film genres is customizable in the legal drama, by defining sub-genres for these films, as legal drama is a major genre for these sub-genres, and it is original art in Arabic literature and drama, and the study has found thirty-five sub-genres of legal drama, from the general theory for film genres, the study recommended in-depth study of this genre in heritage, script writing, adaption, and film narration, due to the lack of studies in these titles.
