The tremendous development the world has recently witnessed, especially in the field of computer technology, has led to a large-scale information revolution in contemporary life.

This development has affected the processes of the judicial system, the most prominent of which is the conduct of criminal investigations through remote communication technology.

This technology is meant to ensure the proper functioning of the justice facility and the acceleration of the penal procedures, in line with continuous development.

This new system has proved to be effective during the period the whole world has gone through, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic and the consequent necessity of implementing physical distancing to provide effective and easy remote judicial services.

This study sought to demonstrate the concept of investigation by means of remote communication technology and its mechanism adopted by the Emirati legislator and its most prominent applications, ending with evaluation of this system and specification of points that must be studied and improved.
